How to Get a Loan Officer License

Loan Officer Requirements:
60 hrs of CORE classroom training, including 4 hrs of ETHICS
OR
8 months of loan origination experience and 30 hrs of CORE classroom training, including 2 hrs of ETHICS
OR
Holds an active license as: Real Estate Broker or Attorney, or General Lines Agent, Limited Lines Agent, or Managing General Agent and 30 hrs CORE classroom training, including 2 hrs of ETHICS
A complete Loan Officer application includes the following documents:
- Complete and notarized Application
- Green Card and/or Immigration Status documents providing your alien number (if applicable)
- Evidence of Experience
- Evidence of Education (if applicable)
- Documentation regarding criminal history, civil litigations, and regulatory history (if applicable)
- Completed and Signed FBI Applicant Finger Print Card (outside Texas applicants ONLY)
- Copy of Pre-licensing Examination Certificate issued by Pearson VUE.
- Check or Money Order for all applicable fees payable to: Texas Department of Savings and Mortgage Lending
