Get Your Real Estate License

You may be surprised to find out how fast and convenient it can be to take classes to become a licensed Texas Real Estate Agent. Our friendly and well trained counselors can walk you through each step of the process.
How to Get a Texas Real Estate License:
1. Decide how many classes you need
The Texas Real Estate Commission requires you to have the equivalent of 210 classroom hours (seven 30-hour classes) before you are able to apply for a Texas real estate license.
If you have two – three hour semester courses on your college transcript (from an accredited college or university) that are related to the topics listed on the Texas Real Estate Commission’s website at: http://www.trec.state.tx.us/education/related.asp, you can expect to receive 60 hours of related credit toward your salesperson’s license.

Filing the application out online it will speed up the application considerably. Once your application has been received, processed and accepted, you will receive notification that you may obtain a copy of the Candidate Information Brochure (CIB) to register for the exam. A copy of the CIB can be downloaded from the web site at http://www.psiexams.com. Please DO NOT attempt to register for the exam without first receiving notification from TREC. Once you have received notification, you will call the PSI Testing Center nearest you and set an appointment to take your State examination.
4. Prepare for Exam
The Austin Institute Prep Course could be the most important course you take. We use a systematic approach, refined through years of research to condense the material you learned in Principles I, Principles II, Law of Agency and Law of Contracts into the pertinent data you need to know for State exam. Terminology, concepts, sample questions, math formulas and test-taking techniques are thoroughly covered in the two day course.
WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU TAKE THIS COURSE. IT'S GUARANTEED TO HELP YOU PASS THE STATE EXAM.*
5. Take State Licensing Exam
The State exam is divided into two parts, a theory portion (based on National practices) and a Texas-specific portion. Once you have successfully passed the State examination, if you elected to be an active agent, your broker will receive your license. You may then start selling real estate.
