VETERANS: Post-9/11 GI Bill Information

The Post-9/11 Veterans Education Assistance Improvements Act of 2101 was signed into law on January 4, 2011.

The law makes changes to the Post-9/11 GI Bill, which is also known as Chapter 33.

Eligible students may use the Post-9/11 GI Bill for non-college degree programs beginning October 1, 2011.

The Austin Institute of Real Estate is approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs to offer the course curriculum to obtain a real estate salesperson’s license in the State of Texas under this Post-9/11 GI Bill.

The Post-9/11 GI Bill allows three separate benefit payments for most students:

  1. Tuition and fees payment
  2. A monthly housing allowance equal to the Department of Defense Basic Allowance for Housing provided to service members at the E-5 pay grade with dependents within the same zip code as the student’s school.
  3. A stipend for books and supplies.

Please call 512-453-0900 to speak to a representative of the Austin Institute of Real Estate for additional information on this exciting assistance program. If you're eligible, don't let these VA benefits for veterans pass you by.
